Suatu hari di sebuah desa, seorang yang kaya raya mengumumkan akan membeli monyet dengan harga Rp. 50.000,- per ekor. Padahal monyet disana sama sekali tak ada harganya karena jumlahnya yang banyak dan kerap dianggap sebagai hama pemakan tanaman buah-buahan.

Para penduduk desa yang menyadari bahwa banyak monyet disekitar desa pun kemudian mulai masuk hutan dan menangkapinya satu persatu.

Kemudian si orang kaya membeli ribuan ekor monyet dengan harga Rp 50.000,- . Karena penangkapan secara besar-besaran akhirnya monyet-monyet semakin sulit dicari, penduduk desa pun menghentikan usahanya untuk menangkapi monyet-monyet tersebut..

Maka si orang kaya pun sekali lagi kembali untuk mengumumkan akan membeli monyet dengan harga Rp 100.000 per ekor. Tentu saja hal ini memberi semangat dan "angin segar" bagi penduduk desa untuk kemudian mulai untuk menangkapi monyet lagi. Tak berapa lama, jumlah monyet pun semakin sedikit dari hari ke hari dan semakin sulit dicari, kemudian penduduk pun kembali ke aktifitas seperti biasanya, yaitu bertani.

Karena monyet kini telah langka, harga monyet pun meroket naik hingga Rp 150.000,- / ekornya. Tapi tetap saja monyet sudah sangat sulit dicari.

Sekali lagi si orang kaya mengumumkan kepada penduduk desa bahwa ia akan membeli monyet dengan harga Rp 500.000,- per ekor!

Namun, karena si orang kaya harus pergi ke kota karena urusan bisnis, asisten pribadinya akan menggantikan sementara atas namanya.

Dengan tiada kehadiran si orang kaya, si asisten pun berkata pada penduduk desa: "Lihatlah monyet-monyet yang ada di kurungan besar yang dikumpulkan oleh si orang kaya itu. Saya akan menjual monyet-monyet itu kepada kalian dengan harga Rp 350.000,- / ekor dan saat si orang kaya kembali, kalian bisa menjualnya kembali ke si orang kaya dengan harga Rp 500.000,- . Bagaimana...?".

Akhirnya, penduduk desa pun mengumpulkan uang simpanan mereka dan membeli semua monyet yang ada di kurungan.
Namun apa yang terjadi?
Mereka tak pernah lagi melihat si orang kaya maupun si asisten di desa itu!

Inilah yang dikatakan orang "Monkey Bussiness"!
